Diane grew up in Lewiston, Maine, where her family owned a very successful supermarket that she credits for her roots in entrepreneurship, and pursuing her own family-owned enterprise. She learned at a young age the importance of customer service, integrity, and community, values that transcend into her daily work life today. She has a background in education, having worked in higher education administration at Lesley College, Northeastern and Babson College, and then at St. Joseph’s College when she moved back to Maine. While her children were young, she pursued real estate for the flexibility, and to work alongside her husband Steve.
Diane believes strongly in volunteering and community involvement, and it is important to her that she feel she is making a difference. These values, along with her natural inclinations toward teaching and education, inspire her in her work with real estate clients. She finds great joy in helping people move into a house they adore – a home where they will make decisions about their lives, raise a family, and grow as an individual.
Diane works to ensure that every client feels supported and informed throughout their real estate experience, and emphasizes the educational component when working with first-time homebuyers in particular. She believes it is very important for a real estate professional to step back and put themselves in the client’s place, making sure they are comfortable with the process and what to expect. Diane enjoys getting to know her clients so she can work with them to realize their plans for the future, and the way their real estate decisions will impact those plans. Diane’s warmth and natural ability to read people’s emotions, and understand motivations, make her a great agent and negotiator.
Diane loves the North Yarmouth community she calls home, and is extremely active having served in numerous board positions, coaching soccer, and currently is active in X. She and Steve have two adult children, Stephanie who has joined them in the real estate business, and Kyle who has a corporate career. Diane is an avid reader, and enjoys the book group she gathers with regularly. Living out “in the country” allows them to nurture their small “farmstead”, where they are particularly interested in organic gardening and cultivating a sustainable food-sources. She and Steve both love the water, enjoying their camp on Thompson Lake, and getting away to St. John for vacation each winter.
